Millburn vacant land .. what are you hoping for?

Short Hills Caterers and the Shell station on the corner of Millburn and Morris Ave's are being torn down. Sign says "land for sale."

I was hoping for another bank or a CVS. What do you hope for?

Sure don't have enough of those!

I believe Walgreens already nabbed the SHC slot.  I liked the Turkish guys from the old gas station and would be happy to have them back in biz.   If not that, then some grass and a couple of benches.  We have enough commerce.

it's going to be a Walgreens. That was determined a long time ago, so I don't know why the land would be for sale. The plan is for the Walgreens in the Kings shopping center to move to this site. Unless the changed their minds, I don't know why there would be a land-for-sale sign.

World's smallest Wegman's.

Walgreens is moving from the Kings shopping center to that location. Not sure why they want to move there. It is going to be a hard site to access.

So the question is: what would you like to see in the old Walgreen space that is now for rent?

 Barnes & Noble

There is one in Livingston Mall. Not exactly far away.

A new site for the much missed Last Picture Show movie theatre.

Affordable housing?

Barring that:  a coffee shop/bookstore combination

200 apartments with 30 affordable is going in next to the mall. But there is going to be a war over it first.

Near the Short Hills Mall?

right next to it on the he same side of JFK.  Where the one story office building is and the surface parking lot of the other office building

Who would want to live in an apt building over there but that's what I said about the townhouses squeezed btwn the high school and gas station on Millburn Ave and people paid over a million for each of those.

I wonder about that as well. It is not by the train station. So it does not even have that going for them.  But Roseland must think they can rent them.

Call me cynical, but the space next to Kings will probably end up being a CVS.
