Memorial Day Recycling & Trash Pick-Up

Does anyone know how this is being handled? The whole neighborhood's got their blue bins out, but it's awfully late in the day for recycling to come through.

the sections that would have been picked up today will be picked up tomorrow according to the website

But what about the folks who were supposed to have pick-up (both) yesterday?

I was pretty clear in my answer. As to your garbage pick up I could not tell you. The recycle bins in all sections will be picked up tomorrow. That company is Basso. The garbage companies are either WI or WM. The rear year trash in my section/one day from WI was picked up today (as it should have been until they switch next week). If you're talking lawn clippings then WI is the sole company and they missed a lot Friday including our and picked up our lawn clipping this morning.

Didn't the letter from WI say that they were switching (the one day people, not the two-day) effective June 1? Between that and the holiday, I had just assumed that it would be picked up tomorrow for this week.

Yes I saw the letter but they picked up our one day a week today.

So we missed it ... ugh!  Tomorrow is Wednesday and it's June 1st.  I object!

Maybe they'll pick up tomorrow too. I suggest you call them first thing tomorrow. Customer service opens at 8 am. Quite familiar with dealing with them (experience due to two weeks of them neglecting to pick up my lawn clippings).

interesting - they took garbage and garden debris together.  Do the incinerate our garden debris as well?

Only because they again failed to pick up on Friday and the first working day was Tuesday which happened to also be my section's recycling day and my then once a week pickup (WI) for Tuesday. Recycling company is neither WI or WM. Basso has the town contract for recycling.

I didn't call, but they did pick it up - yay!

There was some chatter on Facebook about this.  The zones that normally get picked up on Mondays should have all had pick up on Tuesday, but the trucks missed some of those areas. The Town sent out a message that the recycling company was coming back on Wednesday to get anything they missed.
