I attended Mary Chapin Carpenter's show at MPAC in Morristown last night, and it was so great! It was an acoustic show, and I actually didn't know a lot of her music beyond "Passionate Kisses" and "He Thinks He'll Keep Her" so I've been downloading like mad from iTunes ever since. I'm really digging the female singer-songwriter genre lately. She told a story about touring in Australia many years ago, with Lucinda Williams and Rosanne Cash. WOW, what a bill!!
The opener was Aoife O'Donovan (pronounced EEF-ah), and she joined MCC on stage as well. She's definitely a "voice to watch" - really lovely voice and seems to be an interesting songwriter as well. Here's a video of them performing together in one of my newly downloaded songs
