The Maplewood Democratic Committee is seeking submissions from those seeking the endorsement of the Committee for the Township Committee Primary Election held in June. This election is for the term that begins on January 1, 2021. Those seeking the Democratic Committee's endorsement will be interviewed by all members of the Committee in mid-March. Anyone may run in the primary on June 2. The winners of the Democratic primary on June 2 will be the Democratic candidates for the General Election in November.
Please submit a resume and letter of interest by March 1 to iangrodman@gmail.com.
These two seats are currently held by Vic DeLuca and Dean Dafis. Both have advised me that they will be submitting their letters of interest and resumes for the Committee's endorsement. All those submitting a letter of interest and resume will be interviewed by the full Maplewood Democratic Committee in mid-March, who will deliberate and endorse two candidates.
The Maplewood Democratic Committee is made up of 42 elected District Leaders, chosen by Democratic voters in the Primary Election in even years. There are two district leaders elected in each of Maplewood's 21 election districts. Democratic District Leaders are charged with supporting and working for Democratic candidates in general elections, and representing their election district's interests to the party.
