Luther

Sorry if there is already a thread, but has anyone watched this show?

I'm hooked after the first 20 minutes.

If you mean the BBC crime thriller, yes, watched first few episodes when if first came out. Excellent !

It's on my queue. I can't wait to get to it.
I ::heart:: Idris Elba

Um, been watching the Wire. I'm right there with you pippi!!!! He won the Golden Globe too!

Wire is the greatest show ever produced.

Love this show, although it can be really tough to watch. Series 3 on the way - I should probably finish watching the second season...

@lazydog...

Are you rich now?

Pixi, if I was do you think I'd be posting here ?

Nah you would have given all your riches to a worthwhile charity case....ME grin

How was Season 2, anybody see it?

Season 2 is great, but only four episodesLOL

Check out Season 2 Sunday 1-22-12 at 11am to 3pm BBC America channel 101

Excellent show. Idris Elba is excellent.

I agree. I am tempted to re-watch every episode of the Wire....

If by "many" you mean "9," then yes, many more to go. oh oh

Anybody catch the second season yet?

I'm in the middle of the second season now. It has me on the edge of the seat and hiding behind pillows. I just got chills thinking about it.

The second season was too damn short

I just rewind his voice on the Tanqueray commercial.

I know! It's very short, I am gonna have to google season three, see what's up.

Love Luther. I never thought Idris Elba would be anyone but Stringer Bell to me, but now he's all Luther.

1st & 2nd seasons are top TV!!! Hope there's a season 3 oh oh

Can I watch it on Netflix or On Demand?

JML - it's on Netflix.

Season three is being made as we speak, and I don't think it has even aired in England. Amazing show, but they better bring Alice back.

I don't know if it's a regular thing, but I was scrolling through the guide a weekend or two ago and saw them airing a marathon on BET. Might want to look out for that again -- if you're like me and sometimes have trouble hearing British accents, if you watch it on BET, you'll probably be able to put captions on, which STILL isn't possible on a Netflix TV interface. (I did an awful lot of rewinding when I streamed Luther.)

I was home with a cold (boo) and just finished Series 2. OMG - this might be one of the most challenging shows that I've seen. Incredible tension, horrifically realistic scenarios of graphic violence, compelling and flawed characters, just a big bowl of yikes...

...in a very good way. It's like the movie Se7en was turned into a television series. I think that the new two 2-parter season format works well - the overall narrative and direction of the show feels a lot tighter, proving that less can sometimes be more.

Did you know that there's a novel as well? Have to pick up a copy...
