Lots of police activity yesterday pm on Parker

A friend called me and asked if I knew what was happening! Apparently s similar occurrence took place two weeks or so ago.

Didn’t see anything on linr

Oh, this took me back to when I lived on the corner of Parker and Boyden.  I woke up in AM, raised shades in the bathroom and the intersection was covered with grey Chevys.  Back to bedroom to tell my then-husband, "I think the FBI is outside!"  This will give away how long ago this happened: They arrested one of the guys suspected of being behind the FIRST World Trade Cener bombing -- 1993 -- 5 houses away from ours.  30 years ago!  One of the more memorable actions that took place in our old neighborhood ... "The Hood", as we lovingly referred to it.

Do you know the second attempt (9/11) also had a connection to maplewood? Remember that pizzeria on Springfield Avenue close to Boyden? It was called “cheesy pizza” and the two guys running it were involved in that same terror cell. I remember distinctly calling to order pizza on 9/10 as I used to order pizzas from them and pick it up on my way home. Phone lines were down. I asked my son to go see if they’re open as I live two blocks away. Place was in darkness and seemed like it was out of business, I figured it was just that they went out of business. But by the end of the week there was a notice on the door that said FBI investigation on the business and no one was allowed inside.
Remember the psychic on the corner? I often wondered why she didn’t get a signal that these terrorists were right there among us.
