Just got a call from a friend...

He says he is riding a horse and there is a giraffe beside him and they are being chased by a lion. He wants to know what he should do.

Impossible. But it's also impossible for the lion to catch you.

And the correct answer is:

Get your drunk ass off of the carousel.

my friend just called and said he found a henway.

tjohn may have to get outed if he keeps this up. oh oh

Well, before I answer this question, I just want to say that the answer very much depends on whether or not the hen was raised in one of those inhuman chicken farms or is a free range hen...

Whew. Because in an emergency, a cellphone is no match for a land lion.

Shecky Schmidt and Henny Tjohn...appearing here all week folks!

by the way, I did laugh at the land lion joke.

I think the post office site needs to be turned into the Maplewood version of the Granit or the Nevele.

the standup stage could be built on the loading dock.

The Borscht Belt was well known for repurposing...repurposing jokes.

At the post off-ice, there's so much to do. Raise a uni-corn, do some fencing too...

Godwin's Law, MOL section now includes references to the P.O. site in list of thread killers, second only to the phrase, "for the taxes I pay..."

have to disagree with you there. mention of the PO site will not kill the thread. It may actually ensure that it never ends.

Two-story minimum or three?

GROAN.

I was staying in Chicago a few years back and had some free time early in the morning, so I thought I'd go to the Art Institute when it opened. I asked the hotel desk clerk for directions to the museum and he told me it was walking distance -- only a few blocks away and "you can't miss it. there's two big lines out front." And I said "Lines? At 9am on a Wednesday?" And he said, "not lines, lines."

Finally I realized it was his Chicago accent that had me confused. There are two of these things in front of the Art Institute:

Speaking of walking, -as a travel note, -I discovered that in Ireland when they tell you that some distance is "a good walk" it really means it's a freakin' looong walk.

No joke.

"Or don't do a thing. People do that too."

---Actual lyric from the "Nevele" commercial

Actually, the Art Institute of Chicago has opened up a new wing devoted to the Internet
