Is this on for this year?

You had me interested for a moment.  Then I saw Gaslight Brewery.

I will never spend a dime in any event associated with that establishment.

Ditto.  I will not patronize anything associated with Gaslight Brewery.

I think the question was whether or not this annual event will occur again this year. Since I don’t give a rats *** about beer, I’m wondering about the main event, which is the food trucks,

I'm not a Gaslight fan but the event has been very successful for a number of years even with their participation in the beer garden.

I'm guessing they're not having it this year given the absence of any announcement(s). Seton Village SO Facebook page hasn't been active.

But if by chance they do have it, I'll tell the beer garden not to expect you guys.

I am not a drinker nor have I ever been, so I am kind of out of the loop when it comes to bars.

Can Yahoo or Tomcat explain what I missed with or about the Gaslight Brewery?

I had a couple of bad experiences there in terms of service and there are numerous stories about how people from certain groups have been treated by the owner in years past.

I've heard that ownership or at least management has changed, but that ship sailed for me many years ago.  There are lots of other nice bars/restaurants to visit in SOMA.

There's just nothing I can find anywhere about a 2019 date. Maybe someone can ask our VP on Facebook? I'm not a citizen of Facebookistan.

The beer garden is a significant part of the event but you can certainly go enjoy the food trucks and music without stepping foot in there. It hasn't always been sponsored by the Gaslight, so don't assume it would be again.

I seem to recall it getting announced pretty late last year compared to the previous ones, so I wouldn't assume the silence necessarily means too much.

Like Yahooyahoo, I have had several cases of horrendous service at Gaslight.  The last time, we ordered 1 salad + 1 bowl of chili con carne at 10:30 at night (in order to get quick service).  After 45 minutes we left - still hungry as we were never served.

We tried to explain to the owner/manager on the way out, she just shrugged her shoulders and did not bother to apologize.

As per the SHU University Weekend schedule of events, it's still on--Friday, October 19: https://www.shu.edu/weekend/schedule.cfm

Still a month and a half out, so maybe publicity will ramp up in another few weeks?

When I first moved to the area I was excited to try the Gaslight, but was disappointed to find the service flat and the beer indifferent.

I see nothing here about the Seton Village Food Truck Festival. It would be listed under SO events, not SHU events anyway.

It's there but you have to click on the Events for Parents tab.

The Seton Village Facebook page announced the date for last year's festival in June. Nothing for this year so far.

Odd that it’s listed under Seton Hall events and no one in South Orange seems to know about it.

It's always the Friday of SHU Weekend. I've been told it's happening by people who would know!

It's now on the town website. Friday October 18th from 5-10 PM.

Unfortunately I can't find a list of food trucks anywhere. I'm sure there will be something for everyone, and the beer garden of course.

How many food trucks?  We went the very first year and it was great except for the very long lines (20-30 minutes) at all the trucks, which was especially hard if everyone in your family group didn't want their entire meal from the same truck.  Maybe they've added more since to alleviate this issue (?)

I wish I knew. I remember they added more between the first and second years. But like I mentioned I can't find a listing online about what trucks or how many.

Nevertheless it should be fun.
