How to beat Boardwalk games

I know it's a bit late in the season to post this - I thought it was well done:

Has anyone ever won at the bottle ring toss game?

I used to work at the Shoot out the Star concession at Playland in NY. I got to be pretty good at it, but I haven't been able to shoot one out in many years.
