Governor Christie approval rating hits a new high

Not sure how a high approval rating is good for anyone but the politician in question. And I would feel the same if this were about any politician.
The disapproval rating (33) is more impressive than the approval (56). That's pretty hard to do in this day of hardcore my-guy-ism.

jld... I was giving him a compliment.
You complain about people's blindness and biases, but yours are so big that the really affect your reading comprehension.
what do you get when you mix red and blue...purple? we're a purple state...we're a red state just about where 78 and 24 split off.
I have to admit, now that I think about it, over the past year or so, he's stopped doing some of the things that people disapproved of. I can't remember the last time he publicly feuded with the teachers' union for instance. it's possible he's realized that he can get a lot more done if he tones down the bluster.
as an Austrian it is quite scary when a politician can draw such numbers simply with his rhetoric. It is a true sign in how much trouble we really are when following the one who bellows the loudest seems like a good idea.

You know what? I take this back. It is indirectly good for the people of NJ because it implies that a majority of people are happy with their elected official. Which can't be bad...

Rhetoric led to bipartisan reforms in pension and healthcare cost reform? Rhetoric led to flushing jail terms for non violent drug offenders, and putting the people in rehab? Rhetoric led to 2% caps on local property taxes?
I'd love some of that rhetoric out of the White House.
Ml1 - I just heard on nj101 tonight that he's being incredibly vocal about teachers' tenure. So I think it''s just the calm before the storm.
it will be interesting to see if he does so in a respectful way, or if he goes back to being a hurricane ("I'm a member of the Hurricanes, Alice!"). if he chooses bluster over respectful dialogue, I'd expect his approval numbers to start sinking again.
I'm bringing back some of his greatest Christie man-crush hits. appropriate on the day the big guy's chickens come home to roost. or cop a plea.
