“Doorbells and sleigh bells, and schnitzel with noodles!” The Maplewood Glee Club will deliver its signature holiday cheer with its annual winter concert , “A Few of Our Favorite (Holiday!) Things,” on Sunday, December 15 at 3:00 PM at St. Joseph RC Church in Maplewood.
We'll be performing holiday favorites like “Let It Snow” and “I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day,” modern classics like Paul McCartney’s “Wonderful Christmastime” and Straight No Chaser’s “12 Days of Christmas,” as well as offbeat faves like “Kosher Cowboys” and P.D.Q. Bach’s “Throw the Yule Log On, Uncle John.” The program will also feature some non-holiday hits ranging from Broadway showstoppers to a song about pirates (a fan favorite).
This year, we'll be joined by the Westfield High School Chorale and the 2024 winners of the Glee Club’s John A. Plumer Memorial Scholarship, violinist Daphne Faulkner Valiente and pianist Emma Wang. The club’s small ensembles, The Unusual Suspects and The Doo-Wop Preservation Society, will also perform.
