Found Dog

Found this dog wandering in the street on Garfield Place in South Orange. I hope I have not given an off-leash owner a scare, but she was collarless, hot, and in the street, so we thought we'd take her home and look for the owner. Does anyone know this dog?

You might want to call the SOPD and see if she has been reported missing, maybe even the MPD. Good luck, you have a good heart!

Beagles can travel pretty far distances because the follow their noses. If you are contacting police, consider contacting police in adjoining towns as well. Both my beagles are chipped just in case they get loose.

Also put up posters in the area the dog was found. Believe it or not, not everyone uses MOL.

There's a thread called "Lost Dog" about a beagle gone missing in the Garfield Pl. vicinity. I posted a link to this thread on that one. Could very well be the same dog. Does the dog you have answer to Daisy?

Thank you! I just saw this on the SO facebook. Daisy bolted this morning without collar. That's her.

Seems folks on MOL most often lose dogs named "Daisy". (Remember that amazing story?) If I had a new, unchipped dog, I might consider "Sunflower" or "Gerber"....

Sounds like this Daisy has already found an angel to bring her home.
