Fire in Downtown Millburn archived

There is a fire in downtown Millburn right now- all the streets are closed -anyone have any more information ?

No info on the fire - hopefully no one was hurt. Just came from there....rerouting traffic through the surrounding neighborhoods. Avoid the entire area if you can - delays were beyond crazy.

Just got the phone call from the school system--all the school buses will be late due to the fire & Millburn Ave & Essex ave being closed

Even decades later, we still think of it as the I-hop!

Traffic on Millburn Ave from Wyoming towards town is open now. Slow, but open.

I guess that will finally be the last restaurant at that location?

Is traffic still bad there?

Mumstheword. That would be too bad I still keep thinking its ihop, loved that place

Looks like it was just in the back/kitchen area. Not burned down to the ground at all. The fire did reach up to the roof in the back but from the front it doesn't look like much happened. If they get our SF adjuster, he'd say the place will be back in business in about 4-6 weeks. ;-)

Kind of a bummer. That latest version of a restaurant was actually hanging in there.

Actually it's not an I-Hop, more like I-Chop

We always called it "Thai Hop."

Where was the IHop????

Is it near where My Favorite Muffin used to be? I miss that place!

Just after the point where Millburn Avenue becomes Essex.

I hope no one was injured.

I LOVE QJ! We order delivery all the time. However, they haven't been answering the phone for the past couple of weeks and I was worried that they may have closed. I drove by the other morning, before they would have been open, and it appeared to still be in business. I wonder if further investigation will determine the cause to be arson. I certainly hope not LOL

The iHop was before my time here. I think it was a Japanese restaurant when I moved here and I've actually never been to any of the restaurants in that location. I passed by it this morning and was surprised that it seemed to be confined to just one portion of the building (I had assumed it was totally gone).

Unlike that poor purple house on Maplewood Avenue that was devastated. I pass by it twice a day and can't help but look up and say a prayer. It is such a shame that it's standing there looking so sad.
