Elmwood speed camera.

'cept its not likely a camera...

Most likely not a camera as NJ does not have speed or red light cameras. The 5 yr pilot program ended last yr.

....so you mean the cameras at the intersection of Liberty and Morris won't burn me if I'm still crossing/ halfway through when the light turns red? Ha-ha

Coreyoh oh

the camera won't but the cop, skulking in the bushes, might.

oh and Ps....where would they put this camera on Elmwood? It would be beyond the "hidden" police car, on the left side, first block heading towards Prospect right? Lol What about the other "hidden" police car off of Parker Ave...close to Richmond...forgot the street but know he's there on the left heading towards the high school. They need to change up their speed traps! Lol

Corey oh oh

Those two traps happen to be quite successful.  FYI there are about ten others in the range you mention.

ctrzaska...no doubt, people fly up Elmwood and Parker at times. They are just very predictable. oh oh

Predictable may not be good for handing out tickets but I'd imagine it is good for slowing traffic.

And @inifinitesquirrel the last time they had a speed monitor on Elmwood the policeman who was installing it told me it did register speed although it's not light a "red light camera".  Either way if it gets people to slow down I think it's a win.

For everyone who thinks "It's 25 and I'm only going 35 no big deal" keep in mind a pedestrian hit by a vehicle at 23 mph has a 25% fatality rate but at 35 mph that jumps to 50%.  That extra bit of speed is not worth it.

FWIW that device is off (under) about 3-4 mph.
