I agree with your take. I think part of the fun of the series was wondering what would happen next. A pleasant diversion, but maybe a little letdown even though I wasn't expecting much.

Funny, my wife loved Iain Glenn as Jorah in GOT, but when I pointed out he was in Downton, which we both loved, she hated the character.

Saw it yesterday. Overall, if you're a fan - you'll be satisfied. It was good to see everyone. For a movie the plot was pretty thin.
