Does anyone know where I can donate a few boxes of unused contact lenses (prescription changed)?

Lions Club?? Lenscrafters? Is there still a drop box in Millburn? These are places that take old glasses, or used to, not sure about contacts, maybe call?

If they haven't expired and are unopened, you can exchange them.

What j_r said depends on where you bought them. I have so many unused, unreturnable contact lenses around here. I've donated before to New Eyes for the Needy. You can leave them in the box outside their door in Short Hills. If you include a name and address, they'll mail you a tax form.

How can someone use contact lenses made for someone else?

You could give them to your doctor who would be able to use them as samples for future patients with the same prescription.

Thanks, everyone, for the great suggestions. I also found this organization that accepts them:

Contact lenses are stock prescriptions, not custom made for specific people (at least that's the case for my daughter's lenses.) Sort of like drugstore reading glasses. So, definitely could be used by someone else if they have the same prescription.

There is a yellow drop box on the town side of the Maplewood train station
