Great kitchen and bar. Start in the lounge with fireplace.
Always have breakfast at the Hay Adams. The oatmeal is off the charts (yes, oatmeal) as is the eavesdropping potential.
I'm probably too late, but if you're in Georgetown and enjoy Ethiopian fare, I had a wonderful experience at DAS, as the place we originally wanted to go had a long wait. DAS turned out to be an real treat both in food and as a place to have a long relaxed dinner:

In DC with husband. Been here plenty of times and always go to the same few great restaurants which we like, Capital Grille being one of them. Would like to try something new and romantic, maybe less pricey. Any suggestions?
