Any current recommendations? From a guy's perspective--simple as possible. Easy offsite location for procedure etc. thanks
My husband and I used Schrader and procedure was done in a facility in Florham Park.
Highly recommend Dr. Debra Tarantino
I should tell my Dr. Mogan story I guess. Had a colonoscopy with him more than ten years ago.
I was not given any anesthesia at all because they were concerned about an interaction with an anti-anxiety drug that I was taking. (about which they already knew and said nothing to me about before hand) I had no idea what was ahead for me so I just said OK.
Worst medical experience of my life. Incredibly painful. I was literally yelling at the doctor to stop the procedure midway because of the pain. He did not stop.
So, there's that.

Many business owners I know all swear by Dr. John Franzese (973) 701-8277 on Main Street (Rt.24) in Chatham.
I vote for Dr. Franzese from personal experience.. The best of the best !

Dr. Michael Margolin, Cranford. In and out.
Matt Askin. Partner w Schrader. Same facility in Florham Park. Thorough.
I have nothing but good to say about Dr Mogan. All four of my family members have had their colonoscopies and endoscopies. Easy Peasy no pain at all
The worst thing about a colonoscopy, is not the procedure itself, but the prep.

Don't know the last time you had a colonoscopy, but the prep is gotten much easier. Still horrible but much much easier! People shouldn't use that as an excuse to avoid a very very important testing procedure
My routine colonoscopy found colon cancer at age 53. Don't let any excuse stop you. Good luck to all for a healthy, happy future.
Another vote for Dr. Schrader, but, in full disclosure, he is my cousin (once removed).
If there was a way to be anesthetized for the prep, that would be ideal. There's something about the self-torture aspect that I found especially abhorrent.

The prep doesn't stop me from doing what needs to be done, and yes it is somewhat easier.
My vote is also for Mogan, think he moved office location though.

I used Dr. Robert Greenblatt, with offices in Union & Linden, and with an endoscopy surgery center. His numbers are 908-964-1144; or 908-486-8080. His fees were completely covered by insurance, either all in-network, or whatever they paid him. Transportation to and from the procedure, with a driver, was included. Very pleasant and effective, although not catering to the carriage trade.
