Third place goes to Gaslight Brewery for its Antegator Burger. Antelope, alligator, pork and rib-eye beef are ground together, formed into a patty that is grilled and then covered with shredded Napa cabbage, jalapeno bottle caps, Chipotle aioli, smoked mozzarella, French fried onions and house-made brown sugar bacon in this unique burger creation. 15 South Orange Avenue, South Orange.

Any pics, Soda?

One man's opinion: When you put all that stuff on a burger, it says you don't believe that your actual burger is any good and that it has to be buried in stuff so no one will notice.

My mom grew up in a German household in Jamaica NY in the twenties and the mustard always went on the burger (both sides) before it was fried.  Apparently no grilling in German Queens.  I still don't think it's a real burger if the mustard goes on after the cooking is over.  It's just a different food altogether.

Since The Gaslight will never see  my patronage unless there's a change in mgmt., I cannot offer a photo of its Antegator Burger, which (once again agreeing w/Markel) anyhow sounds totally over the top for no good reason...

Here's today's favorite DIY burger, instead.
