Is the Burger King XT whatever any good?

Posted By: sodaI used neither the tomato, the onion, nor the lettuce...
No lettuce or tomato for me either (raw onion is a good addition in my book, though). YMMV or, as they used to say in the pre post-literate era, chacun

Oh man, now I want a big fat burger with bacon and blue cheese...

I mix the blue cheese into the hamburger meat before grilling. Yum!
Tomato
Onions
Lettuce
Dijon
Mayo

Perfect!

BTW: Monster, what other cheeses are on your "how to ruin a cheeseburger" list?

    just blue cheese

Is the Burger King XT whatever any good?

Being a huge A-1 fan, and curious to see a working model of the latest in hifalutin' burger tech, I actually went over to try an A-1 Steakhouse XT at the BK on Rte 10. They serve all three versions of the new meat-beast there, but the counter lady spoke limited English, so I asked her in my limited Spanish, "Tiene la macina nueva para preparar eso?". She assured me that there was no new machine. Oh well...

The burger itself is quite a mouthful, but rather dry and flavorless IMHO. They don't offer A-1 on the side if you want extra, an the "crispy onions" were cardboardy, merely making the entire production more awkward to get into your mouth. I finished it, of course (this is not a cheapo item), but won't order another with those onions. I like the McDonald's Angus Third Pounders better, anyhow...

I tried the BK smokehouse cheddar XT yesterday, not bad, but it's still just a BK burger

i tried the BK smokehouse cheddar XT also and was disapointed. maybe because they forgot to put any crispy onions on. and ididnt taste much a1

Posted By: jeffmarkelMmmmmmm Shake Shack. Loves me a Shake Shack "Shack Stack" (though their fries are only so-so. 5 Guys fries are better).

This is why you skip the fries at Shake Shack and get 2 burgers! One thing that pisses me off about SS, though-if you're charging nearly $5 bucks for a cheeseburger why the hell can't you put the damn condiments on for me? It's such a pain in the arse to open all those little packets.

Please tell me you're kidding! (I am pretty gullible).

How the heck do you get your mouth open wide enough to eat some of those burgers? Someone has to take a picture of a Stony Burger!

    A) Yup, I'd say you're pretty gullible, too. And

    2) Clearly, you've never seen my mouth... Seriously, though: it's much easier since I had my henway surgically enlarged.

Oh, and here's a sample of what's available at the terrific eatery upstairs from the Fairway Market on B'way, UWS. Luvvit!

Canis, I work at shake shack, and that's just their policy. Go with the shake sauce if you want them to put it on for you!

Here's how it's done at the Mucky Duck on Captiva, while enjoying a terrific sunset:

      That looks sooo good.

UT burgers tonight with our Pommes Souffle.
      UT means usable trim.
We trimmed several 60 day dry aged prime ribs for a dinner tomorrow.
We also trimmed some Kobe fillets which will be used for Carpaccio.
Just grind-ed the trimmings 50/50. The 3/4 inch burgers will be grilled over apple wood.
Hope to post a picture later. There will be 20 Burgers with 18 called for...If you smell them cooking and pick the right house, 2 are for the asking.
And yes we made a caramelized onion and jalapeno relish. For those in the know.

Most important meal of the day...

I've never had one, but don't forget the off the menu internet sensation, the Mcgangbang.

      http://www.eatmedaily.com/2009/03/the-mcgangbang-a-mcchicken-sandwich-inside-a-double-cheeseburger/

"The McGangBang ranks up there in the holy pantheon of WTF. It's a sandwich made from a double cheeseburger and a McChicken sandwich — where you put an entire McChicken sandwich inside a double cheeseburger. It's a creative manipulation of existing menu items, and an exercise in frugality: taking two items off of the Dollar Menu and creating an entirely new sandwich for a total of $2.16. Truly, it's a sandwich that's more than the sum of its parts."

Tell me when you plan to stop by. I live about 2 miles from Sliders. Then we can stop at Kinchley's Tavern and you can compair them to Bunnys. Although there is no Monster Burger on the menu.

This one's waiting for you at Smashburger, 15 Bloomfield Avenue, Montclair (next to Panera). I'm not overly impressed with most of the fare at this chain (5 Guys is as good or better on the burgers), but it's not far away, so if you're in the neighborhood...

A liberty cheese burger with Taylor ham, mushrooms, onions and bacon!! So good

I have to admit I don't get the appeal of bacon on a burger. If I wanted BLT, I'd order BLT. When I eats me a burger, I want to taste BEEF.

Anything with bacon is better :bigsmilequestion

          I win.
(Yes, those are Krispy Kreme donuts)

Don't get me wrong, I'm bacon fan from way back - just not on a burger.
