Bringing kids into city today?

was going to bring the kids to visit their dad at work, then head over to MOMA which is a few streets away. Knew, but forgot when planning this about the parade and the fact that it's Veterans Day. Is it an especially crazy/busy day in the city & on NJ transit today? Was going to try to catch the 10am train and be back on a 4pmish train. My kids are young, so having a seat on the train is kind of a must. Anyone going in now or have travelled with kids last year, etc? I would normally think it's no problem, but with election results and parade just want to be prepared for any extra travel considerations. Thx in advance

Just seeing this now. Hope you went in and are having fun. Trains were empty this morning on the morning rush, between the general Friday working from home crowd and the holiday. I was actually in the city yesterday having fun and it was quite crowded on the Highline and elsewhere. Go figure.
