A wild mushroom - apparently tastes like chicken...
In the pan — bacon and wild mushroom omelet.
Slow cooking grits from South Carolina on back burner.
Viola-as they say in France.

Why would you sand the bottom?
CB offers smooth or rough bottom. Smooth is about $10 more.
Smooth allows for ease in flipping stuff.

There used to be a thread about MOL quotes that were funny out of context.

I love this thread. Thank you Jack.
Glad you like it. By the way, regarding your avatar, it is spelled wrong. In my house, stuff in the frig is labeled, Hand Zoff.

I have Lodge skillets and I knew nothing about the sanding part, so I looked it up on YouTube and it seems like a big PIA to sand them down, so that was great your brother-in-law did that!

So... did it taste like chicken?
No. Musty, mushroom smell and taste. Taste like Kennett Square mushies, but stronger flavor. I like it more than Morel mushrooms.
I should have sliced it smaller. Next time I find some, I will marinade. There are several recipies in the internet tubes.

They can be purchased at B,B and Beyond for around $90 as I recall. It was my son-in-law and I do appreciate him.

Yeah, I"m going to stick with my inexpensive Lodge set. I have not noticed that much sticking. Good to know about the sanding if I ever decide I need to do that.
sauteed, wild Chicken-of-the-woods.
