Bike to CHS?

I assume a good number of kids bike to CHS? Are there enough bike racks to store bikes? Is there an issue with bike theft?

I left Maplewood in 2013, so what I know may be out of date. But I helped the school district purchase racks a few years ago, and the capacity was greater than the demand. Bike theft is a concern, so use a good lock, and know how to use it. Sometimes improper use can allow a theft. As for what is a good lock, well, in Maplewood, you may not need a New York Kryptonite, as long as your lock is better than most of the others in the vicinity. You should know that it's very easy to cut a cable lock very quickly with a small, light tool. To decide what kind of lock to use, observe what others use and what gets stolen. A U lock isn't much of a waste of money even if it's overkill.

 Thank you!!

Yes, there are bike racks and I see a decent number of bikes when I go by during school hours.

If possible get a combination lock or get extra copies of the lock keys. All my boys rode and only issues luckily were lost keys freshman and sophomore years. As they got older they became more responsible with the keys.

I rode my bike to MMS once.  Then I had to ride up that hill to get home.  Yeah, walking seemed easier after that  oh oh

Though depending on where you live the hills on either side of Valley from CHS might not be an issue
