Beacon Jewelers have a heart of gold!

(No pun intended)

Last weekend the nurses who care for my wheelchair bound mother-in-law called me with a concern. It seems my MIL's fingers were suddenly swelling and her wedding ring and engagement ring were now so tight they were causing extreme pain. Something had to be done - fast.

Because of the wheelchair we can not take her out of the facility on a moment's notice. We needed a solution to come to her.

I called Beacon Jewelers, in Maplewood village, at 3:00PM on Saturday. They closed shop at 3:30PM, put away all of their jewelry, got in a car and drove to Winchester Gardens with a special tool. They met my husband , cut off the rings, refused to be compensated for their VERY GOOD DEED and rode off into the sunset.

How great is that? That is what makes this town so great, folks know each other and take care of each other. As you can see, that applies to the business owners as well.

Thank you again for your kindness Beacon Jewelers, you went above and beyond!!

Good to know, considering I worry about my own Mom's rings in AL at Winchester. Beacons rocks!

Wow, send this story to the Village Green and Maplewood Matters. I think they would love to post this feel good story and the publicity will be good for Beacon

so good to hear positive stories! Bravo for Beacon

Just nice and classy What more can you say but nice people . Glad it worked out well.

Thank you for sharing and acknowledging them!

I've been using them since before my husband and I got married. Reading this doesn't surprise me at all, they are great people.

I love reading stuff like this. Thanks for sharing. oh oh

Tony has been our family jeweler for years.
He just spent a small fortune making his story everything he wanted it to be.
So everyone go buy some jewelry. get a watch fixed, or just stop in and chat and meet a really really good guy.

That is a lovely story and why it's important to shop local.

Now I have to find an excuse to go in and provide some business.

I am so thankful for our local businesses. Its one of the reasons we moved to this community.

I love Beacon Jewlers! Tony recently made a sentimental charm bracelet (that I NEVER wore) into a necklace that I am wearing much more frequently.

So even if you can't afford to buy something new, consider letting Tony re-purpose something you already have. It may not be as expensive as you think and ... as Tony likes to say: Why have jewelry if you don't wear it?

+1

My own story is not as good, but it means a lot to me.

Coming up to our 25th, my spouse and I wanted to have our rings on our fingers. It seems that they shrink - who knew? ;-)

The careful sizing, keeping the details about the inscription, indicates craftsmanship.

I love how I live so close to that kind of craftsmanship. I cannot imagine recommending any other jeweler.
