Aurora Borealis - for weather & photography lovers

Perfect conditions for spectacular lights last night, people travelled from all over the globe to see last night’s display especially. (There have been descriptions written for days, but all were saying last night was going to be THE night, and it did not disappoint)

I’m sure you’ll find other amazing views via BOM Australia, the usual good news sites, National Geographic, etc.

That was lovely. So many amazing and beautiful wonders in the world. Hard to believe what a disproportionate amount of time we humans spend watching the horrors when the treasures are all around us.

I got out around midnight, but cloud cover obscured whatever view I might have had of the southern skies.

I recognise that Melbourne might have been a little far north to see the Aurora Australis, but the website had suggested it might be visible from the southern mainland, so I thought I'd give it a try.

Hey marksierra, do you have access to any great pics you could upload, perhaps from scribblygum (if that's still going), or elsewhere?

Unfortunately not, @joanne.  The only images I've seen were on the news website.

Scribblygum hasn't operated for many years.  It was taken off-line when Aunty shut down many of its interactive websites.
