Anyone try a burger at Wawa?

I'm in no rush to try - just curious to know how it was,

Here's one review I saw - now I'm a bit hungry for one.  They only serve them after 4pm.

so - I braved it the other night.  And as far as fast food burgers go - it was really good.  The burger had a grilled flavor to it.  I'm normally a Five Guys, but I would be fine with either option.

I like that Wawa has more cheese options and the toppings are really good.  Didn't try it with bacon - I don't think I like Wawa bacon.

This was at around 9pm - the fries felt a little old.  They're seasoned like curly fries.  Tasty and compliment the burger well, just not as good as McD's or Five Guys fries.

I just wish they had them available at lunchtime.

You know I have to ask how much it cost?

oh oh

Custom Burger: $4.99

Fries: $1.89

Brioche roll was good also!

 Excellent!

where is there a wawa around here?

Almost across from Panera bread on Morris Avenue in Short Hills or Springfield. I’m never quite sure where the dividing line down there is. It’s on the land that used to be Paper Peddlar.

also - on Springfield Avenue by Boyden.

Now that we have an answer on the WaWa burger, has anyone tried that stupidly named Ch'King sandwich at Burger King?

I've been trying various chicken sandwiches and so far Popeye's wins.

I still thought it was a quickcheck!

 Love that chicken from Popeye's.

Close to it - there were a few discussions when it was proposed and built a few years ago.

Ok different space- is it also a gas station?

 Yes.

It's been almost 5 years already:

oots - you posted a few times on that one.  ;-)

Quick plug for Wawa.

One thing I like is they train their gas attendants to hand back your credit card as soon as it has been read. It's never out of my possession for more than 15-20 seconds.

Having gotten my credit card number stolen a few times, it's a nice aspect.

Back to burgers.

with Five Guys closer to my home than WaWa, I don't think there's a chance of my ever going to WaWa for a burger.  Having said that, I don't think I've been to Five Guys in ten years.

I'm not against fast food, but it seems like it's never something I eat unless I'm on the road.  Stopping at Mickey D's off the interstate.  Sure.  Getting in the car and driving over to Five Guys, not so much.

And an upscale burger can be a wonderful thing.  I'm disappointed that Modine in Asbury Park closed.  Best burger I think I ever had.  They had their own sauce, and made their own pimento cheese.  Holy cow that was a good burger.  And of course their smoked fried chicken was out of this world.

Did they smoke their fried chicken or fry their smoked chicken?

Haven't been everywhere, but the best upscale burger I've had around here is at the Hat Tavern in the Grand Summit Hotel.

lightly cold smoked over cherry wood prior to frying.

I think "wawa" in Japanese means "whoa".

Guess the training happened only in the past year as the WaWa near me- Morris/Warren Cty-has had stolen credit card issues.

Back to the chix sandwiches- McD was awful. Popeye’s rules.

Shake Shack had great Hot Chicken sandwiches.  Really disappointed that it was only for a limited time.

yeah, McD's new chicken sammich sucks arse.

As for Burger King, I might try their new sandwich, but I refuse to say Ch'King.
