Anybody get grocery delivery?

We’ve tried to get Instacart, Shipt, Peapod, and Ashley to deliver. Never any luck?  Can anyone give us some tips?  Thanks.

 If you are a member of Amazon Prime Whole Foods will deliver. The dates are far out next week and the downside is generally you get 1/2 of what you ordered. Also Walmart.Com will ship some items.It's been very frustrating, but if you keep trying at different times of day you will get something. Also call you town if you truly are running out of food, they may be able to drop off something depending on where you live, your age, your income, if you are disabled.

We've had good success with Amazon. We initially got a message that no spots were available, but we refreshed several times over the next hour or so and got a same-day delivery window. We got 6 bags of groceries, which actually came a half hour sooner than their window time. Didn't get everything we wanted, but most of it. 

We've also tried Costco, but haven't received that order yet, so can't comment.

The services open up new slots at a certain time of day. I've heard it's midnight for some of them.

 What do you mean by "refreshed"? Did you just keep trying over and over?

Pressing f5 on your keyboard will refresh your screen.

 What do you mean by "refreshed"? Did you just keep trying over and over?

 Refresh the screen using whatever button does that on your particular computer.

Tried Instacart just this week. Placed order Tuesday from ShopRite and was told it would be delivered Friday afternoon. On Thursday night they texted to say they wanted to substitute 10 of 12 items. I cancelled the entire order. Later Thursday night they texted that they had delivered two substituted items. I still haven't found them and tried to get refund. Anticipated wait time on customer service call of over 2 hours. Gave up and now will deal with credit card company. 

Profeta Farms for chicken, beef, pork, eggs, maybe dairy (if not sold out), and some produce. Delivering to Maplewood/South Orange Mondays and Thursdays.

Baldor Foods, which normally supplies restaurants, has begun temporary home delivery during this time. A lot of items are in bigger quantities than feasible for homes, but some things will work (and they say they’re getting more). Produce (which I’ve heard is of very good quality), milk, eggs, some pantry items all have manageable sizes. If you have freezer space, you could bulk purchase quality meat as well. $250 minimum order, place by 10 pm for next day free delivery.

I've been a Stop & Shop customer for years (since Path Mark switched owners), and a peapod customer since they offered home delivery. The extension of fear mongering amongst you able bodied people is ridiculous. Think of your fellow neighbors and stop hoarding **** you privileged ********. No one is going to lose their lives due to lack of toilet paper. You're ******* over people like me who don't have transportation. Looks like I'll be having to risk my life even moreso since NJ transit is still letting New Yorkers bring coronavirus into our town.

what's an "extension of fear mongering"?

All people are doing here is sharing advice so that we can get through these difficult times a bit easier. No one here is in favor of hoarding - except maybe that 20 bottles of sanitizer guy, who got reamed for it.

If you think you're getting ****** over, maybe come here for some help or advice?  We might be able to help. That's what we're here for.

 Where did you see that Profeta Farms is delivering?

We got a mailer from Profeta Farms advertising their delivery service back in early January (if memory serves). It made me curious enough to stop into their rather large establishment in Readington on my way back from Frenchtown around that time.

Nice place. I may have been there at an off-hour but was surprised at how few customers were there at the time (the staff behind the butcher counter were looking at me expectantly) considering the well-stocked selections and large numbers of shopping carts outside.

I did grab some of their homemade vegetable soup which was wicked delicious and I wish I had some now.

At the time I dismissed the idea of how they could profitably do deliveries to Maplewood (except, ya know, to Fred) considering the distance but I guess they gang them up and make it work. Seems especially feasible now.

I bet there are people on here who are hoarding months of toilet paper and other things they don't really need....and just won't admit it.  If you panicked but have now come to your senses, sell to your neighbors in need...at cost.

I know 2 people that have bragged (not on MOL) about having a 5-6 month supply of toilet paper and don't think they are hoarding.   I could understand 3 months under the circumstances...if you get sick you may need extra, but beyond that is really rude...when so many people are doing without.  I am low income due to be severely disabled and struggling to function 2 hours per day.  I have been  forced to go out more often in search of TP.  I also have stomach issues and use a lot more TP than most people.  I have bought  baby wipes as back up and paid more for a premium brand.  I am good for about 3 weeks at this point, but due to my health issues, having to use alternate product will be a more serious issue than for most people.  Paper towels/napkins are popping up a lot more and baby wipes slightly.

I also can't get to a store before it opens and stand it line.  And from what I heard, stores are more likely to be stocked 1st thing in the morning.

it is very frustrating to be seriously ill and not able to physically or financially be able to compete with panic buyers.  And asking for help isn't so easy...i spent years asking for help..even just 15 minute of time for things I can't do for myself...sometimes people offer, but then don't follow through.  Most of the time no one offers.
