Any last minute places to go for New years - US or outside?

So, I tried like crazy in November to track something down and just got disgusted at not being able to find any flights that are reasonable. Rooms were never a problem - flights a disaster in terms of costs. Actually strangely not availability of flights. Throw out any and all suggestions- heck, we went to Pittsburgh for New years one year and adored it! That was back when you could book a flight without it being a fortune last minute - probably 2009 or 2010

What's your idea of reasonable airfare?

we just booked (3daya ago) really cheap flights to Jamaica leaving on 12/30. Right around $400pp. Haven't seen that low in a very long time. At that time, Nassau flights were running just under $300pp so that was our other option. I found decent FL (Miami and Orlando) flights as well. IF you can be flexible with dates. For the best fares, you had to be willing to return 1/6 or later

    How far do you want to go, and how much are you prepared to spend (apart from, as little as possible)?

     There's Fiji, New Zealand and Australia for starters.

     The negatives?  It'll probably cost you an arm and most of a leg to get here.

     The positives? First, we all speak proper English, in one form or another.  

     Second, it's getting on for summer, so you won't freeze (and won't have to pack and/or wear much more than the cold weather clothes you'll put on to get to and from your local airports).

     Third, as you'll be a good ten or more hours ahead of US time, you'll be able to call your friends at home and tell them that 2016 looks pretty good from where you're standing.

     What's not to like?
