1000 EMails by Monday morning

We need 1000 emails to the TC by MONDAY morning...start something!

"Do not close Monday on the Post Office property sale - the people are speaking!"

TC Contacts: Town Hall 973-762-8120
Mayor Vic DeLuca – v.deluca@twp.maplewood.nj.us
Kathy Leventhal –  k.leventhal@twp.maplewood.nj.us
Marlon Brownlee –  mbrownlee@twp.maplewood.nj.us
India Larrier –  ILarrier@twp.maplewood.nj.us
Jerry Ryan –   g.ryan@twp.maplewood.nj.us

v.deluca@twp.maplewood.nj.us, k.leventhal@twp.maplewood.nj.us, mbrownlee@twp.maplewood.nj.us, ILarrier@twp.maplewood.nj.us, g.ryan@twp.maplewood.nj.us

I'm going to send the TC an email in support of the project. Thanks for the idea Olive!

what would be the rationale for not closing on this sale?  what is so compelling that the township should break their contract with the developer?

before you ask for people to send emails, shouldn't you tell them why they are doing so?  or do you think people are such sheep they will do what you ask without question?

I ask a lot of questions for someone from New Jersey.

Great idea! What this town really needs is another post office thread. I was starting to miss them.

about 500 emails from Winky and about 500 from Author should do it

Give up

It would be emails from 12% of Maplewood households, assuming only one person per household sent an email.

I figure that each ohno60 person will create 200 email addresses

Thank you, Olive, for making it so easy for me to email the TC in SUPPORT of the project.

Olive, you are pitiful. Just my opinion of course.Maybe you fancy yourself some type of leader.News flash, nothing could be further from the truth. Again, just my opinion.

Why should readers of this thread take the action requested by the OP?

There are 24000 people in Maplewood.  assuming 1/3 are under 18 that would leave 16000 adults.   If only 1000 people care enough about the post office project to send an email objecting to the sale that would be 1 out of 16. Why should the TC change policy to cater to such a small portion of the population.   I'd be very surprised if you  got more than 100.  Although I have a perverse picture in my mind of winky,  author and other desperate Oh Nos typing madly into the night creating 1000 fake email addresses.

Were you attending some boozy brunch today where after 10 mimosas this seemed like a good idea?

Those who are trying to derail this project in the eleventh hour should really think twice about their methods.  Do they really want to set the precedent that a small number of disgruntled members of the community should be able to undo a process that has taken YEARS and gone through all the proper channels and processes and been voted on at every juncture by the elected officials who were democratically voted into office?

Given that after months of strenuous effort--including many weekends hawking their cause at a booth in the village--opponents only managed to gather about 700 signatures to their petition, 1,000 overnight emails seems extremely unlikely. And that's leaving aside the fact that a large percentage of petition signers were from out of state. And also that it requires much less effort to sign a petition than it does to craft an email and send it off. Most of the opponents to the PO seem to have accepted that they have lost. It's time for Inda to move on to the next cause and graciously accept that she didn't prevail with this one.

Just sent an email.  Subject: "Just sell it."

I feel bad for my ex-wife, since these people have managed to put *her* phone number up as my number...

Then again Woot can tell us for the 501st time that the Post Office is Ugly.   Even here in the rolling green hills of Pennsylvania I kind of missed that insipid statement

The people who serve on the TC are volunteers who spend countless hours every week in public service.  I think it is a new level of suckiness to publish their personal phone numbers in a public forum.

Especially when it is a wrong number oh oh

I want some of what ohno60 members are on.

For the record, I removed the numbers in the OP.   Not that anyone is using them in this silly call to action, of course.

The post was quoted, so you may want to edit the quoting post as well.

You should tell Jill on Facebook Lounge to edit her post also....

Perverse fits your thought perfectly.

We apologize to your ex-wife - you all should update things - that is the phone numebr listed publicly for you.

The rest of the phone numbers were sourced on the town website...so if TC members don't want their phone numbers listed publicly, they should take that up with the webmeister for the town website, not with us.

Sarah those phone numbers are publicly listed on the town website...no suckiness...stop your accusations.

No need ABbie, it's all listed publicly on the town website already for all to see far and wide - has been for years...no improprieties here at all.

Knowing something to be in error and not fixing it... what do we call that?

You know, you're right, public is public.  Here is another publicly listed email where concerned citizens may wish to express their opinions:
