Foreign Policy Discussion Group

Registration is now open for the South Orange/ Maplewood Great Decisions (SOMA GD) discussion group for the 2018 session. Great Decisions is a grassroots foreign policy discussion program of the non-partisan Foreign Policy Association. The SOMA GD program is free and open to all residents of Maplewood, South Orange, and neighboring towns. Participants will discuss, in 8 weekly sessions, important international issues facing America today. This year’s topics are: The waning of Pax Americana?, Russia's foreign policy, China and America: the new geopolitical equation, Media and foreign policy, Turkey: a partner in crisis, U.S. global engagement and the military, South Africa's fragile democracy, and Global health: progress and challenges. Discussion meetings will be held Tuesdays from April 3 to May 22, 1.30 – 3.30 pm. Registration is required and is open until March 30. Space is limited to 10 participants.
